Peer Review Registered Nurse in Los Angeles, CA

The Peer Review Nurse is responsible for coordinating all physician related Peer Review activities at this 300 bed medical center in Los Angeles nbsp; Serves as liaison between the Quality Department and Medical Staff Office regarding On Going Periodic Professional Evaluation OPPE nbsp; Participates on and or leads performance improvement projects and other quality management improvement activities as designated nbsp; This position reports to the Director of Quality Improvement Compensation is extremely competitive and entirely based on background KEY nbsp;DUTIES amp; RESPONSIBILITIES nbsp; Works with Medical Staff Office and the Quality and Risk Management Departments to coordinate peer review activities for all licensed independent practitioners and credentialed allied health professionals i e PAs midwives Reviews cases and make judgments as to whether they meet established peer review criteria including but not limited to chart review staff MD interviews and literature search Prepares cases for Peer Review meetings including but not limited to investigating physician performance and investigating performance of nursing and other hospital personnel Tracks and trends cases using an electronic database methodology Collaborates with physician leaders to ensure cases are reviewed evaluated and outcomes established and recorded timely including composing related peer review committee correspondence Attends all Peer Review Committee meetings including compiling and presenting peer review cases which may include reports from investigations and interviews Proactively works with the Medical Staff Office and nbsp;physicians to evaluate OPPE and determine if there are trends or concerns warranting further analysis or action Maintains strict confidentiality of all details entrusted to him her as relates to the peer review process nbsp; Contact
