1968 Harley-Davidson XLCH Sportster Ironhead Kickstart in Los Angeles, CA

1968 Harley-Davidson XLCH Sportster Ironhead Kickstart

There can't be too many left like this. Original paint orange / wrinkle black kickstart magneto Sportster with only 6,971 miles. I got the from the original owner. Frame has a "J7" date which would be October '67 which would be correct for '68. The paint is still beautiful. There are a couple scratches in the rear fender and a very small chip in the tank. There might be a few other small scratches, but for a bike that is 46 years old it is in remarkable shape. The front fender was cut off at some time in it's life. I can't see where anything has been repainted or touched up. Even the paint under the fenders and tank looks nice. I did some light cleaning on the bike but the new owner can do the real detailing. There is some light pitting on places like the air cleaner and exhaust. All finishes look to be original. The things that aren't original that I can see are the tires and mufflers, and an oil cooler was added. The bike has been sitting for awhile and I have not tried to start it. It kicks over just fine. The new owner can do the starting. You can tell by looking that is has never been apart. All original wiring. All '68's I have seen use a Guide RH-55 taillight housing. Even the top lens screws still have the factory paint on them. This would be a great addition to your collection.
